McLemore Golf School: Big News and Bigger Bites!

2024 is teeing off as a great year for McLemore Resort. And an exciting year for McLemore Golf School! There is a flurry of activity going on in anticipation of future events, like the opening of Cloudland and The Keep. But what about right now? Well, between now and then there’s big news and bigger bites to experience. McLemore Highlands Course is overseeded and in fantastic condition for a round of golf. New tech is there to assist you with your golf skill improvement. And there is a new buzz about the addition of a Director of Golf and new menus at The Creag.

What will all this activity do for you, right now?  Let’s get your game and your taste buds in full gear as we explore big news and bigger bites as January 2024 kicks into full gear.

TopTracer Range Fully Operational

All the TopTracer technology was installed in October and is not fully operational! This means when you are practicing at McLemore, you can experience the revolutionary ball-tracing technology that’s transforming the way golfers everywhere are practicing.

Track your warmup shots. Take your serious practice sessions to another level. Or dive into immersive virtual games with friends who are on TopTracer ranges elsewhere in the world. Take advantage of the Toptracer range soon the next time you visit McLemore Resort, track your shots with laser precision, and take your swing analysis to the next level. Get ready to crush it with confidence!

Caddie Up with CaddieNow

McLemore has just inked an agreement with CaddieNow. CaddieNow will manage and operate a forecaddie program at the Highlands Course beginning March 1, 2024. And when The Keep opens in late Summer, full caddie services will be available, enduring a truly premium golf experience.

If you’ve never played with a caddie, now’s your chance!  Caddies can assist with not only cleaning and carrying your clubs. You’ll be surprised how knowledgeable your caddies will be with reading the fast bent grass greens. Or navigating the trickier holes on the course, like #6.

And when the signature course, The Keep, opens its doors, a full caddie program will be available, ensuring a truly premium golf experience.

New Director of Golf Named

McLemore has hired Greg Lecker, PGA, as the new Director of Golf. Greg will join the McLemore family in late January.

Greg brings a wealth of experience to McLemore Resort. Having previously worked at such legendary golf facilities as Oakmont Country Club, Columbia Country Club, Sawgrass Country Club, and Canoe Brook. Greg’s expertise in golf operations and facility management is an invaluable asset to McLemore, its members, and guests.

New Menus. New Tastes!

Chef Patrick Asconi has introduced all new menus at The Creag. The McLemore favorites are still there, like McLemore Hushpuppies, The McLemore Burger, Steak Frites, and Flat Iron Pork. Now complimented by a few unique and savory items for both lunch and dinner.

When you’re ready to take your lunch break when participating in a McLemore Golf School program, new apps, mains, and sides are waiting for your taste buds. New additions to the lunch menu include abut are not limited to Roasted Turkey Melt, a Blackened Red Fish Sandwich, and a new Smoked Trout Dip appetizer while you wait. One of the more interesting and simple additions is the House Sloppy Joe. This handheld is oversized and topped with fried onions on a brioche bun. For some reason, McLemore Golf School thinks the Sloppy Joe will become a main stay on the lunch menu.

The new dinner menu appetizers include Maple Glazed Brussel Sprouts and Oysters Rockefeller. McLemore Golf School has never been a fan of Brussel sprouts. But when we were there in October, Chef Patrick provided a teasing sample that was worth re-evaluating if Brussel sprouts should become one of our favorites.

The new dinner mains feature Roasted Scallops, Wild Boar Ragu, and a 12oz Demonico Ribeye. We were always fans of the filet. But the ribeye is also a great substitute!

The new menus are sure to please most all members and golfers, before your round, after your round. Or for a relaxing dinner with friends and family.

See you on the range (or at the lunch table)!
